The best place to eat in Prague?

There are two Michelin restaurants in Prague, forget it. There are several restaurants in Prague that offer not only superb and traditional dishes but also great views of the beautiful city, forget it. There’s a list published in June 2023 titled “9 restaurants to visit for the tastiest food in Prague”, forget it. If you want something that’s not just a culinary experience, something that satisfies your stomach and doesn’t start screaming for another meal after 13 minutes, do as the locals do, go to Gemüse Corner Kebab in Podolí!

In a small wooden stall on the edge of the center of Prague, you can find food that you won’t find in a standard tourist brochure. Their menu is very simple, you get food in a roll, traditional pita bread or in a box. You can also choose the main ingredients from three different fillings, chicken, falafel or hallum cheese. In addition, of course, all the usual things that go with this kind of food, a fresh salad, various spices, sauces and so on. It doesn’t sound very delicious, but trust our food taster, it is!

This is not fast food!

The portion sizes should satisfy most regular people and everything is fresh. The taste is something that left me empty = hungry, because to my surprise, our food taster eat everything and it doesn’t get any better than that. Of course, as with everything else, there is a catch. If you are in a hurry, don’t even think about going here. When you get here and there are less than 10 people in line, don’t forget to go and buy a lottery ticket too. There are always people around and it also takes time to prepare a dish, fresh handmade, not half-baked stuff to put in the microwave.

Today there are two of these places, but the one in Podolí is the original. yhalinen.com has yet to test the newer one, which actually also has seating, even if Podolí’s two seat terrace also has its charm. And as a reminder, yhalinen.com is not connected with this company in any way, they are not our friends, we don’t get free food here, they don’t sponsor us, they don’t even know this blog has been written yet. This is just good food that will make your stay in Prague a little more pleasant.
