Jakub Zomer Blues Bond @ Jazz Under The Rooftop 3.5.2025
The season second Jazz on The Rooftop had to make an quick rearrangement yesterday to Under The Rooftop due to the weather conditions, a bummer, but this is summer 
! This annoyed and brought down the feeling a bit, but only until we heard the first sounds of Jakub Zomer Blues Bond, (Lukáš Chejn – g; Jakub Doležal – sax; Marek Jurkovič – dr; Jakub Zomer – org,voc.) after that nobody could care less, come rain or come shine. It was back to the roots of blues with a touch of funk, soul, a little jazz and in what way! 
! It was back to the roots of blues with a touch of funk, soul, a little jazz and in what way! It’s not unusual to see Jakub on the organ as band leader, though not very usual either. And not only was he the leader of the pack, but also the lead solist, and with great success. He has a strong supporting voice that was perfect for the music performed yesterday, of course. And with the highly talented musicians to take care of their part, the afternoon was the perfect break for Saturday and the weekend. Have no doubt because, according to the ovation from the rest of the audience, I was not alone with my feelings! Please, more of this stuff Jakub!
The Genius of the Rooftop
Yesterday was, once again, proof of what a brilliant and genius idea the Rooftop happening is. It gives the perfect break for the Saturday summer afternoon, for the locals out doing his shopping, home cleanings or whatever. For the tourists the timing is more than good after walking around the city since the morning. And the most important, for a very affordable entrance fee you get to listen to very high class and skilfull music, and with the policy of Jazzdock, Czech local music! There are no beginners in the lineup, on the contrary we most of the time see and hear the top of the top’s from this country, like last night. The use of less skilfull and inexperienced artists would be very tempting for the club moneywise, at least I can imagine that, but that would at the same time also jeporaise the whole project. There’s even more aspects to these afternoon sets but I’ll save it for some other time 😀 Let’s just conclude, this is a true win-win situation! See you on the top, the Rooftop! 😀
