Three of Seven @ Jazz Dock | 27.7.2026
The multi-continental jazz group Three of Seven—featuring Libor Šmoldas (guitar), Sam Zerna (bass), and Jesse Simpson (drums/piano)—are back in town. They are just as exceptionally good as one could expect—and maybe even a little bit better. There is a precise reason why I recently dedicated an entire standalone feature just to promote this band’s tour schedule, a move that is highly unusual for me. Last night at Jazz Dock, these three masters of jazz showed me exactly why I like being right!
A year has passed since their last run together, but time is the only thing that has moved on. Everything else that makes this group legendary was completely intact. Technical skill is a given with players of this caliber, but skill alone isn’t always enough to capture a room. There are certain things they simply cannot teach you in music school. I have told you this before, but it bears repeating because it is vital: sometimes, things like humor, the visible joy of playing, and a genuine, deep love for the art are far more important than any major scale or perfect technique. When those elements are completely honest, the crowd instantly feels it. Audiences are not stupid—always remember that. When a band possesses that genuine spark, they capture the room effortlessly. That is the most accurate description of Three of Seven.
This trio has been on the road for about a week now. If you are even slightly interested in experiencing real, honest, and world-class live music, you owe it to yourself to catch them. I have already provided their full European Summer Tour schedule right here on the website. Take a look at the dates, pick a night, and attend at least one of these concerts. They are absolutely worth it, and so are you.
Thank you, Three of Seven!
See you again very soon!
