Prague Live Music: Goodbye Prague, For This Time…

Libor Šmoldas and Nigel Price at the Old Lady, Prague

Nigel Price & Libor Šmoldas @ U Staré Paní — 27.5.2026

Yes, I know. I only just saw these gentlemen of jazz, Nigel Price and Libor Šmoldas, a few days ago. But believe me, I would gladly go see them again tomorrow if possible. After last night’s incredible concert at U Staré Paní, anyone with even the slightest interest in good music would do exactly the same.

I’m not going to repeat everything I’ve already said, so I will make this quick: click over and check out Monday’s blog post, link below, about their Jazz Dock gig. Their effortless musical chemistry hasn’t changed a bit—if anything, it has only grown stronger and tighter over the week.

This is an absolutely phenomenal guitar duo. In fact, we should seriously start a public fundraising campaign to get these guys into a studio or a venue to cut a live album together. And no, I am not joking! If there is genuine interest out there, I would be more than happy to step up and start organizing it.

You can find my full review of Sunday’s concert [HERE]!

Short Background

If for some reason you don’t know who I’m referring to, here is a quick introduction to these two masters:

  • Nigel Price is an award-winning, UK-based jazz guitarist celebrated for his flowing bebop lines, deep blues sensibilities, and masterful chording. A highly prolific artist on the European scene, he frequently tours with the critically acclaimed Nigel Price Organ Trio.
  • Libor Šmoldas is widely considered one of Europe’s leading jazz guitarists, celebrated for his smooth, melodic approach, effortless technique, and engaging connection with his audience. Based in Prague, he is a prominent figure of his generation, heavily active across four continents as a performer, composer, and educator.
Thank you, Nigel and Libor. I truly hope to see you guys back on stage together soon! 🙏🙏🙏😊
