Jamie Marshall's Amplified Acoustic Band @

We are way into 2025 so it was about time that The Amplified Acoustic Band (Jamie Marshall, voc.g., Svatka Štěpánková, voc.b., Radek Hlávka, g., Martin Petrásek, d.) also got their roadshow back to where it belongs, that is of course on the stage! 
And this time I know that I’m right, a sold out Jazz Dock was proof of that if anything. Because this band, with its very personal and charismatic members, is best when served live. The long break they had has not changed that. With a little maybe careful start?, this could also be my imagination, we got what we came for, which is an honest, good and skilful musical end to the Friday night. A concert that held most of the songs that we wanted to hear and a couple of new ones, held the festive audience in its grip for the full two sets. And of course we had our icing on the cake, the encore that has become the band’s alma mater, was given to us in its expected way, because they can! This was a perfect start for the weekend, and looking at all the smiles around me I’m not alone with that feeling. I must also give Jamie a little extra bonus for his way to handle the few little over enthusiastic and loud fans. It was stage experience and the right touch that put the guys back on track without anybody feeling bad about it. The fact is that most of us was there for the music, thank you Mr. Marshall

Now I’ll repeat myself because I still think AAB could do some more gigs, concerts, name it the way you want. Yesterday showed that there’s clearly a gap to fill for this band. As Jamie himself said, “we don’t gig very much” but please maybe reconsider that? A few more gigs to the schedule wouldn’t take up too much of your time especially since you don’t rehearse at all, this according to Svatka. And yes I know, only the untalented practice… Thank you all and see you next time.

I’ve was fortunate to watch Jamie play solo and alongside his various bands in venues in Prague for around 15 years. He has an incredible voice and a wonderful rapport with his audiences which elevates the while experience. What’s more, he really knows how to treat a female impersonator.
