It really is for free, go for it!
If you’re into music, and even if you’re not, you might have run into an offer lately on social media for a free CD, you only pay the postage. Yes I know, been there done that, yes, yes. But this time it’s for real, I tried it, ok after some background research! 😉 The music business has changed totally in the last decades and this is one of the mild phenomena we are now experiencing. Good or bad, well… The idea at start seems crazy, and expensive, yet. This is one way to reach out to your listeners, if you want to spread your work to a bigger crowd. You can of course put in an ad in the newspaper and then try to sell your record but… There is no more newspaper and who buys a CD today, except for me, but I’m old school. 😉 Today’s word is streaming, and it has actually been so for years already as we all know. Maybe good for you and me but for the performing artist who has to eat and pay the rent, hmmmm. This subject is so large that I leave it for now, I might take it up later on, if there’s interest.
So who is this Søren Bebe and his Trio,Søren Bebe – p; Kasper Tagel – b; Anders Mogensen – dr. that wants’ to enlarge our musical know-how? You would not be surprised if I told you that it’s a young band that’s just started to win their spurs, makes sense right, and yet nothing could be further from the truth. This is an established Danish musician and his group. They have been on the music stage for years, tour the world etc. Søren calls himself a jazz pianist even though that’s not the whole truth. And the freebie, the CD? I liked it, for me it’s very relaxing but also mellow and sad at the same time but get the record and make up your own opinion. Remember also that Søren is really not alone on record. There are three very professional musicians in the right place at the right time, and I think the easiest way is to quote Mr. Phil Jackson “The strength of the team is each individual member. The strength of each member is the team.” Like I already mentioned, get the record, I think you will enjoy it.
And just for the record 🙂 . I’m not getting paid or getting other benefits from this blog. I got the record because I was curious and I’m always open to new music.
