She came, She saw, She conquered
Not alone
Yes I know, Hetty was not alone, even if one tends to forget that following her performance. 🙂 On the stage she had with her something that today must be described as the cream of Czech jazz music, Libor Šmoldas – g; Nick Haywood – b; Jiří Levíček – p. It was easy to see and hear that these three musical pros were enjoying themselves just as much as the rest of us. I don’t know who was inspiring who and I don’t really care as long as the result is what it was yesterday. It was a while since I heard Libors guitar sound so joyful, Nick and his bass was just wow, Jiří on the piano was to me a new experience but I will make sure that it was not the last. And yet, sorry guys but Hetty stole the show! 🙂
You still have the chance...
For those of you who missed yesterday’s show. Hetty will perform one more time in the republic, on June 16th there’s a chance to see her at the Beroun Jazz Festival, the configuration of the band is slightly different but just as good, for now it looks like: Hetty Kate – Voice, Libor Smoldas – Guitar, Tomáš Baroš – Double Bass, Jesse Simpson – Drums. After this we will have to wait until next January 🙁 so… I will give you some more details about this as soon as I know something myself. See you next Sunday…
