What a band, thank you very much Bohemia After Dark! Last night the audience of the Old Lady was offered a trip to the very beginning of bebop, back to the 40s where it all begun. And what a journey it was, at a point I would not have been surprised if Charlie himself would have showed up, and of course he didn’t, and that was ok, because that’s how good the band was. Ok, the band held something that many would call the cream of Czech musicians, Ben Hague (drums), Andy Schofield (alto saxophone), Osian Roberts (tenor saxophone), Martin Jůzl (trumpet) Alice Bauer (vocals), Libor Šmoldas (guitar) and Taras Vološchuk (double bass), so what else can one expect, and yet we where offered something a little extra. I’m not gonna even try to analyse or review these musicians separately, I leave that to the experts. Because what do I know? I only like good and very good music and that’s what I got last night. Sum summarum, if you ever get the chance to see these guys, do it! 🙂
P:S. The band stepped out of the line for a short moment and did a blues, and that was something else I cool have listened very much more… 😉
