Black Friday goes Jazz Friday

There were no discounts given on the quality of the music last night at U Malého Glena jazz club, Black Friday or not! Libor Šmoldas Organ trio (Libor Šmoldas – g; Jakub Zomer – org; Tomáš Zelený – dr.) made sure that the concert held the same standard it was supposed to be, and that we, the audience, are used to. Itentesed, relaxed and joyful, a perfect break for those who needed a place to breathe during the Christmas preparations, or for guys like me, who just want to go out and enjoy some good music. This despite that Libor had forgotten the sheet music at home and both sets had to be done more or less improvising. Personally I think that this was a bit of a victory for us in the audience, we had this little unusual gig, something that’s not every day, and nobody was complaining so… 🙂 When I say nobody I must confess that I never asked Tomáš Zelený on the drums about the forgotten note sheets. I have never seen Tomáš around and playing with these two world class musicians like Libor and Jakub, who are everything else but strangers to each other, is definitely not the easiest task to perform. And yet I’ll give full credit to him, after a little maybe nervous? start, he did his job like he should and Tomáš has nothing to apologise for!
