Beroun Live Music: Stop the presses! Elsa Nilsson returns this Friday

Elsa Nilsson – Band of Pulses at Atelier 57, Beroun, 23.2.2025

Elsa Nilsson Quartet live @ Orbis Beroun | Friday 3.7.2026 @ 20:00

If you have already looked at my freshly published July HotSpots list, I am going to ask you to officially hit the brakes. A musical opportunity has just landed on my radar that is so exceptional, it deserves its own emergency announcement. This Friday evening, the absolutely outstanding flutist Elsa Nilsson is returning to Beroun—and trust me, you want to be there!

Longtime readers of the blog might remember my February 2025 review, “A Poetry in Music”, where I left Ateliér 57 completely spellbound by Elsa’s ability to turn a jazz concert into a delicate, sensitive journey to the unknown. This Friday, July 3rd, she is back in town—but this time with a spectacular, unique cross-continental lineup. The Elsa Nilsson Quartet will feature the incredible Elsa Nilsson on fluet, David Dorůžka on guitar, Anne Mette Iversen on bass, and our favorite local host, Jesse Simpson, anchoring the drums.

The setting for this open-air evening is just as unique as the music itself. The concert takes place in the courtyard of the Orbis Cultural and Community Center, located at the historic caretaker’s lodge of the old Jewish Cemetery (Pod Homolkou 186). It promises to be a deeply atmospheric, respectful, and visually stunning backdrop for an evening of modern jazz suites.

As for the music itself, it is bound to be historic. Elsa has written an original suite entirely inspired by Český Kras, the Beroun valley, and its gorgeous surroundings. Even more exciting? The band will be heading into the studio to record this exact project shortly after this event!

The music kicks off early at 20:00 (don’t be late! 😀), and admission is a voluntary donation (vstupné dobrovolné). I will absolutely be there with my camera in hand to capture the magic under the summer night sky. Whatever plans you had for Friday night, clear them now, make the short trip to Beroun, and come experience this masterpiece with me. You can check out all the official event details directly on the Beroun Calendar Event Page.
