Young Artists Stage: Czech Jazz Icons Meet the Next Generation

Young Artist Stage at Café Anežka, Prague 1

An intimate evening of masterclasses, fresh energy, and world-class jazz at Café Anežka.

The third edition of this year’s Young Artists Stage arrives this Tuesday, June 9th, at its stunning home in Café Anežka, Prague 1. Organized by Prague’s Impro Room, the concept is simple but brilliant: it kicks off with an exclusive workshop, followed by live sets from the city’s most exciting rising talents. (New to the vibe? Check out my review of the last event HERE).
If you have the time, do not miss the opening workshop. It features David Dorůžka, an acclaimed Czech jazz guitarist and composer with a musical pedigree most artists can only dream of. A Berklee College of Music graduate mentored by Pat Metheny and Herbie Hancock, Dorůžka blends modern jazz with classical and Middle Eastern folk themes.

He is a multi-Anděl Award winner (the Czech Grammys) who tours globally and shapes the local scene teaching right here in Prague.
The young musicians sharing the stage might be young by age, but their skills are lightyears ahead. These are the names defining the future of Czech jazz. Years from now, you will be telling your friends, “I saw them play an intimate set at Café Anežka before they became stars.”
Skip the usual tourist traps and make this your Tuesday night out. It is unique, fresh, and exactly what Prague’s cultural scene does best.
