Who was that?

Petra Vlková & Libor Šmoldas in duo @ Střelecký ostrov 12.5.2025

One characteristic trademark for a great artist is his/her way to handle a performance when there’s only ten persons in the audience. Yesterday’s outdoor concert at Střelecký ostrov showed that the duo Petra Vlková & Libor Šmoldas handels also this part, not that I ever had any doubt about it. Both Petra and Libor have a love for their profession, passion, something that you always hear, be the performances for one or one thousand people doesn’t matter, yesterday made no exception. Petra even joked about the situation when getting “loud” ovations after Fly me To the Moon asking “Who was that”? 😀 Or when closing the first set asking if they could go for a short break, but only if the few of us promised not to leave, otherwise they would go on without the break. 😀 The trademark of great artists!

Global warming?

Musically we were offered a private concert of jazz standards performed with that skill and deep emotions that’s so typical for these two excellent Czech jazz musicians. A concert that actually held only three persons in the audience at start but grew during the two sets since none of the bypasseres actually passed by, but stopped and enjoyed what was served from the stage, all staying as long as their clothes allowed. 😂 Because that’s what it was all about, where in the month of May, the sun is shining from a clear blue sky but temperatures bringing back memories from winter just gone, it was freezing! 🥶 Some were dressed for the auction, but most of us were not. But in all, a very pleasant way to spend the beginning of the week, and with a performance like yesterday the 1000 people are not far away, no matter what the weather god’s say! 🙏
