Jaroslav Šindler Quartet @ Jazz Dock 13.1.2026
Music, that is good music, is an important part of my life, as you who follow this blog are aware of. 
And to me one of the highlights in music is to find something new, something that you had no idea of what to expect when going to a concert, but… When you want something that you know is good, something that will make you empty your head, relax, recharged your batteries you don’t want to take any chances to get disappointed, you take something that you can rely on, without it becoming monotonous! For me Jaroslav Šindler Quartet is one of those bands, last night at Jazz Dock they showed me to be right! With a slightly different lineup, Jaroslav Šindler – g; Vít Švec – b; Pavel Plašil – dr; Martin Plachý – sax, they gave us two sets very much with the base on their record Fjordy released 2023. Everything safe and familiar, and yet so full of surprises! With solo performances that took your breath away, arrangements that were leaning towards a totally different musical genre, this outstanding quartet gave me just what I came for. Walking home from Jazz Dock last night with what I would guess was that stupid grin on my face again, the one you get when feeling just extraordinary great after listening to something special I was thinking, thank god there are still some things that you can trust upon.
