We all need some AAB every now and then…

Jamie Marshall’s Amplified Acoustic Band @ Jazz Dock, 17.2.2026

It has been clear for a long time now that Jamie Marshall’s Amplified Acoustic Band (AAB) is an essential part of Prague’s talented musical family. Even though their live performances are relatively rare, they are always warmly welcomed—a fact proven once again by the packed house at Jazz Dock last night.

The band appeared in an expanded format featuring Svatka Štěpánková (vocals/bass), Jamie Marshall (vocals/guitar), Radek Hlávka (guitar), Martin Petrásek (drums), Suzanne Higgins (sax), Amy Sauve (vocals/keys), and Andy Schofield (sax). While this lineup is still exploring its evolving sound, the foundation is already rock solid. The bass work, as always, was skillful, strong, and deeply personal—captivating the audience and drawing well-deserved ovations from the enthusiastic crowd. Jamie, with his characteristic charisma, led the nearly three-hour concert with a master’s touch, showing just how well he knows both his band and his audience.

After last night, I can honestly say that we all need a little AAB every now and then. The positive vibration that filled the club is a signature of Jamie and his ensemble—something we could all use a bit more of in today’s world. Those who follow this blog know I am typically no fan of the encore, but AAB is the exception. They turned their extra numbers into a massive sing-along that the entire room was eager to join. It felt like Jamie’s own little “alma mater” moment, with most of the audience clearly waiting for that shared connection.
Thank you, Jamie Marshall’s Amplified Acoustic Band! 😀🙏🙏🎶
