Last chance today!
Ateliér 57 did it again, this is still the best jazz club in Prague, the one located in Beroun City. 😉 They have the incredible talent of offering their audience the most high quality music that you would normally expect to find in big famous clubs and arenas, yesterday made no exception. Under the name Three of Seven, referring to three of our seven continents on this planet, Europe being represented by Libor Šmoldas on guitar, North America by Jesse Simpson on drums and Australia by Samual “Sam” Zerna on bass, we were offered a tour into the world of jazz that will be hard to find like. Okay, I admit, what more is there to expect when three full blooded professionals, devoted to their music get together, especially since they’ve been touring a couple of weeks before yesterday. The point is that there’s alway two ways of doing things, good and bad, yesterday was the turn of excellent. What especially made a big impression on me last night was the performance of their own songs, it would have been so easy to resort to old jazz standards, and it would still have been great but no. It turned out that all three were not only experts on their own tools, but also high class songwriters, which of course only made the day even more superior. The Three of Seven have been touring, like I already mentioned for a couple of weeks, but there is still one last opportunity if you want to catch these guys. Tonight at 18.00 at the Pisek jazz festival they take over the stage, and if you have the chance to get there, do it.
Bara, Jesse and Ateliér 57
Last night at the Ateliér 57 was, as usual, just as pleasant as one can expect. It’s incredible what passion accomplishes when given the chance. 🙂 The soul and heart to the whole Ateliér 57 project is of course Jesse Simpson and his family, without them, no Ateliér 57. Last night turned out to be Jesse’s birthday and as an encore, Bara, Jesse’s wife and soulmate, performed her own composition with Sam and Libor comping in honor of her husband. The genuine warmth and the love in the song should have made it a number one in any chart anywhere. A perfect ending to a perfect night. 🙂
