Time to start recording...
Take your favorite song, learn it really well, so good that if somebody wakes you up in the middle of the night, you can perform it without any problem. When this is in your possession, get yourself into the bathroom, sing your song about ten times in a loud voice, like there’s an audience in front of you. And when this is in your possession repeat the whole procedure about 10-15 times + 5. Simplified, you have now material for a record, congratulations. You’re not a singer, no problem, works with a guitar also, the piano might need some special arrangements, depending on the piano and the size of the bathroom. This only to get you a little clue on what’s going on in the studio. If this doesn’t sound too bad, try it first, then we will see. 😁 Keep also in mind that you don’t have the whole day, time is literally money once you’re in the studio, how much is left of the sponsors pile of doe, don’t stress, but please hurry up! 😉 Working 9 to 5 is maybe not so bad after all? And yes, or actually no, he was missing, the guy who is screaming all the time STOP, WHAT IS THIS, A SUNDAY SCHOOL OR JAZZ? ONE MORE TIME. You know who I’m talking about, he’s on most of the shows on the telly when there’s a program involving any kind of studiowork. My guess is that he was out looking for the foodwagons… 
Petra 6-7 meters above the guys
Petra Vlková and Sonic Playground is, if anything, a live band, the chemistry they have on stage is very much the reason for their popularity. The joy and laughter that comes with the music they share with us is special, they are not afraid to give a little of themself to us. That’s why I looked at the setup in the studio with mixed emotions, Libor and Mikuláš in the main recording room and Petra 6-7 meters above the guys in a glass cage, with only eye contact and the headset to communicate with each other, interesting…
And here comes the reason why they are recording and not you or me. Libor is a young old-timer in this business, some 10+ personal long play CD.s, at least, there is a reason why he is called one of the best jazz guitarists in Europe and that’s an understatement, but you know that. Petra with her very warm and personal voice and style is not either a beginner, just as an example, I have a CD in my possession from 2007 where she is appearing, so… And Mikuláš, with the enthusiasm of youth and already with the skills that many pianists never will achieve in their lifetime. And I was worried about 6-7 meters… Stuppied me, PSP are as much as pro you can get without losing the reality touch in what they do, or to whom they’re doing it for, which is more important than many recording artists ever realize!
And so the day goes on, take 8 sounded good, but only in my ears, and I have already proved my skills 
so they do take 9 and maybe 10 if necessary. The day is turning into afternoon, and it’s time for me to say thank you to Petra, Libor, Mikuláš and Lukáš and leave. I will of course not reveal what we are to expect on the coming record but I can say so much that I’ll be waiting for it and I’m pretty sure that I will not be disappointed once it’s released. It’s always nice to have something to look forward to…
