It’s Official: Summer is Here!

Opening of the Roof @ Jazz Dock | 1.5.2026

It’s now official—summer has arrived. I don’t care what the calendar says; when Jazz Dock opens the Roof, that is the true start of the season. As is tradition, the afternoon unfolded in the spirit of the First Republic. The kitchen even designed a special menu for the occasion, featuring a dish that was reportedly one of T.G.M. ‘s (President Masaryk) favorites: plum-stuffed potato dumplings served with ground poppy seeds. I tried a portion and they were excellent—it’s a shame they aren’t on the regular menu!

The musical entertainment fit the theme perfectly. Roaring Wild Cats Prague—featuring Michael Chomiszak (trumpet, mellophone), Tomáš Kozák (clarinet, sax), Iva Blažková (piano, vocals), and Tomáš Mika (banjo)—transported us straight back to the twenties. The rooftop was completely sold out, the crowd so enthusiast that the band wasn’t allowed to leave until they delivered the mandatory encore.

It was a perfectly relaxed afternoon under a clear blue sky with temperatures hitting over 20°C+. Needless to say, there wasn’t a single complaint to be heard.

This series continues as planned, meaning you can find the next session in its usual spot: Saturday afternoon at 15:00. Surprise, surprise—tomorrow is Saturday! The Jamie Marshall Trio will be taking the stage, and as anyone familiar with Jamie knows, it’s bound to be the highlight of the day.See you tomorrow on the Roof! 🥂☀️
