Adam Tvrdý Trio @ AghaRTA Jazz Club 22.3.2026
Hand Adam Tvrdý a Les Paul, Petr Dvorský a double bass, and place Jiří Stivín Jr. behind the kit, and you get the powerhouse known as the Adam Tvrdý Trio. This energetic, intense, and melodic group commands attention from the very first note—a fact once again proven to the delight of the crowd last night at AghaRTA Jazz Club. You don’t have to take my word for it; just ask anyone in the audience, whose enthusiastic response made it clear they loved every minute of the two-set performance.
This was the trio’s second consecutive night at AghaRTA, but there wasn’t a hint of fatigue. They took the stage with their usual fire—clearly, breaks are for cowards! The individual mastery each member brings to their instrument is always a pleasure to witness and frequently provides the highlights of the evening. Adam led the way on his Les Paul with outstanding solos, demonstrating the kind of effortless precision that only comes from deep musical knowledge. As a brilliant bandleader, he also ensured ample space for his “partners in crime” to shine. Petr’s handling of the bass is truly special, managing to be intricate and melodic simultaneously—a feat that always requires that “little bit extra.” Meanwhile, Jiří often drew the loudest ovations; beyond being one of the republic’s finest percussionists, his deeply personal immersion in the music is a spectacle in itself.
The two-set performance was perfectly balanced between Adam’s originals and a few select covers. Performed with the trio’s signature flair, the night left everyone heading home with that specific smile that says: this is exactly what I came for.
Thank you Adam Tvrdý Trio
