Prague Live Music: The Local Jazz Profiles Part 1 (Guitars & Keys)

Capturing the energy, movement, and raw melody of Prague’s live stages.

The new Online Photo Exhibition in our gallery is entirely dedicated to the human beings who create the music I’ve come to deeply love in this beautiful city. Many of them have recorded masterful albums—some several—but as we all know, live is live. No matter how much corporate algorithms try to force-feed us plastic background noise, nothing will ever beat the raw, breathing reality of a live performance.

This series is my personal way of paying deepest respect to these brilliant local musicians. They step onto the stage night after night to give us joy, intense emotion, and moments that make our sometimes grey everyday rhythms a little lighter to carry.

Please note: this exhibition is completely bound to my personal journey through the local scene. It is my view, through my lens, of the artists I have personally stood in the dark to watch. Because of that, there will absolutely be incredible players left out simply because we haven’t crossed paths yet. This gallery is a living, breathing archive; the moment a musician intersects with my world and moves me, the collection will be updated.

This is just the first installment of a multi-part series. As we progress through the different instruments of the scene, we will eventually wrap up this entire tribute with a special feature dedicated entirely to the incredible younger generation of artists carving out the future of the Republic’s homegrown music. Take a look inside, and feel the music.
