Libor's Jam Session @ U Staré paní | 11.6.2026
The last jam session before the summer break didn’t offer any surprises—thank goodness! It held the exact same high musical standard we are used to, along with the relaxed atmosphere and positive vibes that have become the trademark of Libor’s sessions.
To be honest, these vibes and atmosphere are a true credit to Libor. Despite his excellent international and domestic reputation, he still joins us at the grassroots level with the same enthusiasm he shows when playing with his trio, quartet, or Peter Bernstein! There is definitely a lesson to be learned there for the younger generation.
As usual, Libor made a terrific choice for the house band, featuring Jakub Rolník on bass and Jirka Čonka on drums. It was a setup that we are used to, a combination I definitely hope to see more of in the future. These guys are anything but beginners; Jirka has a rich history with various jazz-related genres, while Jakub is often connected with a slightly heavier sound. It is the perfect proof that we should never judge or categorize musicians beforehand.
Last night was the perfect ending before the summer break, and everyone will be craving more. I have no idea when the sessions will resume, but stay tuned to yhalinen.com and you’ll be the first to find out!
