I can’t give you anything but jazz, baby…

Petra Vlková and Libor Šmoldas charms the Old Lady

It’s sensitive, it’s relaxing, it’s skillful but most of all it’s the joy that charms us when Petra Vlková (voc.) and Libor Šmoldas (g.) take the stage with their old jazz standards performed in a way that “you never know what’s coming!”. Last night (4.1) at the U Staré paní (The Old Lady’s)  made no exception. The almost full jazz club, with an audience that had clearly come to listen to the music, got what they wanted, or I should of course say, we got what we wanted. The three set concert included everything I already mentioned and this time as a small bonus featuring Jeremy Chapman on tenor sax. Jeremy, who plays his sax purely with emotions, no music sheets required, was definitely the right person to join the stage yesterday. Because that’s what it was all about, passion and feelings. Petra with her very personol voice, stage performance that’s always filled with natural charisma and sensitivity, combined with Libors outstanding and skillful guitar playing. You top that off with the joy that they both share for what they do, then you really can’t go wrong, and of course, it didn’t. That’s why you and I will come back the next time we have this opportunity, so see you then. 🙂
