Petra Ernyei Trio @ Jazz On The Roof | 9.5.2026
Yesterday marked the third installment of this summer’s “Jazz On The Roof” series at Jazz Dock, and the conditions were… well, almost perfect. The sun was out, the wind was low, and the mood was high. But there must have been a technical breakdown somewhere in the chain because somebody clearly forgot to turn on the heating! At a top of 17°C, we were a long way from real summer temperatures.
Try sitting on your bum for two hours on a riverside terrace in that weather and you’ll know the struggle. However, we had one trump card left to play—a “get out of jail” card that didn’t just heat the terrace, but saved the day and gave us the perfect start to the weekend. That card was the Petra Ernyei Trio, one of the musically finest trios in the Republic when it comes to the Great American Songbook.
The moment the first notes rang out, the complaints about the cold vanished. People simply zipped up their jackets, grabbed a blanket, and leaned into what was being served—and the nearly sold-out rooftop loved every second of it.
Petra Ernyei (vocals) has a voice so sensitive and an attitude so charming that she creates a cozy, “at-home” atmosphere no matter the venue. Next to her, Adam Tvrdý on the six-string is always something special. Whether it’s a soft, sensitive jazz ballad or a driving blues that makes you forget your surroundings, Adam finds the magic in any guitar you put in his hands. Completing the trio is Petr Dvorský on bass. Perhaps it’s his classical background, but there is a reason he can play with anyone, anywhere. His intensive, deeply melodic solos are just one part of a truly vast musical vocabulary.
There are probably better ways to spend a Saturday afternoon, but honestly? I can’t think of a single one.
Thank you, Petra Ernyei Trio!
