Young Artists Stage feat. Miloš Dvořáček
Many of us are constantly trying to expand our musical horizons because we love and live for the music—whether you play an instrument or are a dedicated listener like me. Tomorrow, Tuesday, at Café Anežka (Convent of St. Agnes) starting at 18:30, you have a unique opportunity to witness something truly special: the next generation of musicians who will carry on the tradition of Czech musical life.
The evening begins with a Masterclass/Workshop led by none other than Miloš Dvořáček, a highly respected educator and musician well-known across the Republic. The entire event is curated by Kristina Barta and Marek Urbánek, both of whom have already earned a stellar reputation in the contemporary Czech jazz scene.
While the organizers have already “earned their stripes,” the most exciting part for me will be the young talents: the Ladislav Nič Group and the band Pluto. While I haven’t crossed paths with Pluto yet, I have seen Ladislav Nič perform as a sideman. I can tell you from experience: these are no beginners. Young? Yes. Talented? Absolutely. But beginners? Under no circumstances. These musicians possess skills that make you forget they are only at the start of their careers.
So, treat yourself to an unusual night of fresh, high-quality music. (And in the future when someone tells you about a big concert, you can always say: “Yes, I saw him when he was still young and unknown—you could already tell then he was going to make it!” Now is your chance!
)
The Schedule:
18:30 – 19:30: Masterclass
19:30 – 20:00: Ladislav Nič Group
20:30 – 21:00: Pluto
21:00 – Late: Jam Session
The concert ticket also includes admission to the Masterclass, which is a fascinating experience in its own right. Tickets are still available, and a reminder: if you are a resident of Prague 1, admission is free!
I will be attending this event personally. If you can’t make it, be sure to come back to yhalinen.com on Wednesday afternoon for an update and fresh photos.
